The Château de Chambord is a castle near Chambord in the Loir-et-Cher department in the Loire Valley in Center-Val de Loire. . It is a sixteenth century hunting castle that has never been used to live in for a long time. It is located about fifteen kilometers east of Blois, by the river Cosson in the Sologne, on the edge of the Forêt de Boulogne in the wooded nature reserve Réserve Nationale de Chasse de Chambord. The castle has 440 rooms, 365 towers and 1036 windows. The castle of Chambord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List
