In the past, the viewpoint called Castellet de Calp served as an observation post, as this place offers excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea. It was part of a surveillance system on the Valencian coast.
The steep cliffs were created by Mother Nature over thousands of years through hydropower and erosion. Castellet de Calp is located between Calpe and Altea on the Mediterranean coast. Rocks bear the marks of time and stand for the timeless beauty of nature. So this photograph is dedicated to a special place on the Costa Blanca that has fascinated and attracted people for a long time. Even from afar, the rock of the Castellet de Calp looks enchanting in the wooded landscape. The scene is framed by the fresh green of the pine trees, which are illuminated by the Mediterranean sunlight and appear light green.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the Alicante province in Spain. Every time I hike near the coast and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick more slowly. The local hiking routes in Calpe and Altea offer wonderful views of the imposing rocks on the Mediterranean coast. This photograph is destined to bring some of the magic of the Costa Blanca and its historical travel destinations into your home.
