Battered English and Dutch ships lie in the Goereese Gat after the conclusion of the undecided Four-Day Sea Battle (June 11 to 14, 1666). In front, with the English royal coat of arms on the transom, the captured Swiftsure. The sprit, foremast and mainmast are broken; the English flag is hung over the stern. On the far left, the Hollandia, Cornelis Tromp's badly damaged ship.
