Maligne Lake is one of the most beautiful spots in Jasper National Park in Canada's Rocky Mountains. The name probably doesn't tell you much, but this lake is one of the most photographed spots in Canada.
As mentioned, Maligne Lake (pronounced Melien) is in the middle of Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The lake is a whopping 22.5 kilometres long and at its deepest point it is almost 100 metres deep. From the village of Jasper it is a 48-kilometre drive to the lake and if you drive through in one go, it will take you about 50 minutes. However, I recommend taking a bit more time for this route, as you can make some nice stops. I ended up making it a full-day programme and it was great. So if you have the time, I highly recommend planning the stops below on your way to Maligne Lake.
