I really have a thing for lighthouses, don't ask me why but I find them to have something very photogenic. You find them in all colors, shapes and sizes and they often tell a whole history as well.
During my tour in Portugal I could capture several of them including this beautiful example of the breathtaking Cabo Espichel. Cabo Espichel is a cliff located on the west coast of Portugal an hour's drive from the capital Lisbon.
The photo was taken during the blue quarter just after sunset which makes for a cooler look and feel. The blue of the dramatic looking sky and the green in the foreground create a nice contrast. Because it was already getting a little dark, the light from the lighthouse is also visible.
