About ‘Bustling house Vlieland’ by Lars Beekman

Towards the end of the Vliehors the drowning house has been standing for more than a century. Originally a refuge for stranded castaways. They found dry clothes, water and food and there was also a telephone connection to the Posthuys. I had to and would photograph this special little house, surrounded by beachcomber wood and other finds of beachcombers.
On a at first sight summery day I took the plunge and on a Sunday I saw the Vliehors in Vlieland. Only in the weekends you are allowed to enter the military terrain of 20km2 on foot. A very long trip lay ahead of me and halfway I thought for a moment I'm going back. After a rainstorm and 7 kilometers further I finally arrived at the object I so desired in the middle of this gigantic sandy plain. Nobody to see. Desolate, bleak but so beautifully lit when the sun just broke through the clouds for a minute! A unique moment, and I was there at the right time to make this special sculpture. Picturesquely beautiful! And the way back was much lighter knowing that I had taken this picture...

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
