The bush grasshopper (Leptophyes punctatissima) is a straight-winged insect in the family sable grasshoppers (Tettigoniidae), subfamily Phaneropterinae.
Characteristics
Males reach a length of 10 to 13 millimetres, while females are 13 to 18 mm long[1].
The body is bulbous and stocky, the body colour is green to yellow-green, the knees are more yellowish, with many small dark speckles all over the body. The neck shield has a white stripe on either side. The ovipositor of females is short and curved upwards. The wings are very small and are about as long as the neck shield in the male, and about half as long in the female. The abdomen of the male can be recognised by two relatively distant cerci that are slightly curved towards each other.
I really loved the look of this grasshopper...is it silliness or full of interest in my camera ? ;-)
