As I walked along the field edges of the Hageland, this bumblebee dived deep into the purple flowers of phacelia. I heard the low hum and watched it move from calyx to calyx, tireless and purposeful.
Moments like these remind me how much work happens invisibly in our environment. These pollinators contribute to flowering and harvesting; without them, the landscape would be poorer and humans and animals would go hungry.
