The Bucegi Mountains are located in central Romania, about 40 km south of the medieval city of Braşov and about 120 km north of the capital Bucharest. These mountains are not only high, but also incredibly beautiful and offer a diverse range of hiking and trekking routes. Not only hobby hikers will get their money's worth here, but also experienced mountain climbers! The highest peak of Bucegi, the Omu, is 2,500 m, but does not tower too much above the surrounding landscape. This is because the rest of the area is already at an impressive 2,000 metres.
