The brown sand moth is quite common throughout the Netherlands. It's a beautiful butterfly with beige and orange tones. I photographed this butterfly in a rough grassland. I see them mainly with very warm sunny weather. It feels great on the flowers with nectar from blackberries. However, this butterfly is sitting on a beautiful thistle.
That's what I love about this photo. The colors orange, green, beige and lilac, have something magical for me. They contrast beautifully with each other. For me, the orange also represents the connection with the earth. The green represents for me the energy of the heart. And the lilac symbolizes for me the spiritual energy. So for me this picture represents positive thinking, a positive energy and being in balance and equilibrium with yourself and with the environment.
I kept the background spherical again, so that the butterfly and the flowers stand out more.
In my photography I like to work with light, shadow and color. It is the basis of life from which all beauty in nature originates.
