In the foreground of this work beautiful boats are shown that are partly moored in the Amstel river and in the Groenburgwal. Between the boats and the Zuiderkerk we see the famous Staalmeestersbrug, a wooden drawbridge in Amsterdam-Centre to which tourists like to attach a love lock to the draw chains. The municipality of Amsterdam removes the locks every year.
