De Oversteek is a bridge over the river Waal near Nijmegen. It was opened in 2013 to relieve traffic across the old Waal Bridge. Every evening, the bridge lights are gradually turned on in commemoration of the soldiers who crossed the
Waal during the Second World War to liberate the Netherlands.
