About ‘Breskens Lighthouse’ by Ellen Driesse
The Breskens lighthouse, built in 1868, is the oldest remaining cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands and one of the most iconic buildings in West Zeeland Flanders. This octagonal, black and white painted tower was built in 1866-1867 to a design by the Dutch architect Quirinus Harder.
