The Binnenhaven van Den Bosch was dug out of the Dieze in the middle of the 14th century. Originally the port was outside the city; Outside the first city wall and functioned as a fortress grave. The western side of the Binnenhaven is the Wide Harbor, built between 1441 and 1449. It used to be called Achter de Steenoven, in front of a corner house called 'De Steenoven'.
