Bouvigne Castle is slightly tucked away on the edge of the Mastbos in Breda.
It is an old mansion from the 15th - 16th century that was bought in 1614 by Philip-Willem, the eldest son and heir of his murdered father William of Orange. He was baron of Breda from 1609 to 1618. In 1624, it went up in flames during the siege of Breda by General Spinola.
The castle was later rebuilt and for a long time was owned by the Princes of Orange.
