The Vestingmolen is a tripod mill on one of the ramparts of the former army fortress Bourtange in the province of Groningen. Originally, there was a wall mill at this location as early as 1619. This standerd mill has stood in Ter Haar since 1832. When the fortress was reconstructed, this mill was built in 1980 as a copy of the original mill in Ter Haar. For example, this standerd mill has a wooden upper axle and breast rods. Next to the standerd mill on the mill bastion is a small horse mill, which was used in times of emergency to still be able to grind grain. This horse mill was also restored to its former glory during the reconstruction of the fortress. The standerd mill is operated regularly by a volunteer miller and is owned by the municipality of Westerwolde. The mill is a municipal monument.
