Botanist in Delft Blue – a serene portrait in cobalt blue

by Elianne van Turennout

A serene botanical figure in Delft blue with her eyes closed, a matching headscarf and cobalt-blue tree branches. As the branches extend into the background, the image becomes a single, unified whole.

The cobalt blue lends depth; the white creates space. Her closed eyes evoke a sense of tranquillity without boredom. A sense of tranquillity emerges; vulnerability without weakness. Perhaps a Delft blue without clichés.

This piece is a perfect match for anyone seeking tranquil wall décor, serene femininity, Delft blue photo manipulation or a blue-and-white poster. Thanks to the combination of the feminine portraiture, the botanical atmosphere and the cobalt blue, it also suits those looking for blue wall art.

It is a modern, surrealist piece of feminine art with a traditional and natural touch. Peace on the walls really makes you feel like you’ve come home.

An image like this looks lovely as a photo print, but also works well on canvas, aluminium dibond or acrylic glass. A beautiful, feminine, botanical Delft Blue portrait for a living room, bedroom, hall, lounge or practice room. A serene work of art that doesn’t make blue feel cold, but instead conveys a warm sense of calm.
