Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

A boat trip through Tortuguero National Park is one of the most beautiful ways to experience Costa Rica's pristine nature. This unique area, crossed by countless rivers and canals, is often called the "Amazonas of Costa Rica". As the boat slowly glides through the calm waters, a world full of life and colour unfolds.

Along the banks you will see herons, kingfishers and turtles, while in the trees howler monkeys and capuchin monkeys make themselves heard. Sometimes a caiman or sloth appears in the distance, and above you fly colourful toucans and macaws. The play of light and shadow in the dense jungle, combined with the reflections in the water, makes every trip unique and enchanting.

This photo collection captures the magic of a boat trip through Tortuguero: from intimate encounters with animals to sweeping panoramas of mirrored channels and endless rainforest. It is an ode to the biodiversity, tranquillity and harmony of a place that is among the most extraordinary natural areas in the world.
