Blue grapes (Muscari botryoides) is a plant of the asparagus family (Asparagaceae) or Hyacinthaceae. The flowers are close together, and are almost spherical. The lower flowers are nodding, and the upper ones are slightly upright. The latter usually without pistil or stamens. The flowers are blue with a white edge or are completely white.
Grape hyacinths are native to the Mediterranean region and Asia Minor. This plant has become naturalized especially in the warmer parts of Central Europe and now grows in orchards and vineyards. In the Netherlands the plant grows mainly in grasslands and along dune areas, but is also found in forests and meadows.
