About ‘Blue Hour at the Brouwersgracht’ by Captured by Demmy

The Brouwersgracht is often regarded as one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals. During the blue hour, as the last traces of daylight slowly fade and the city prepares for the evening, a remarkable interplay of light, architecture, and reflections unfolds. The warm illumination of the historic canal houses contrasts beautifully with the deep blue tones of the sky, while the water subtly mirrors the atmosphere of this special moment.

What drew me to this scene was its timeless character. The distinctive façades, the soft evening light, and the calm waters come together to create an image that feels quintessentially Amsterdam, yet almost painterly in its appearance. Despite the energy and movement of the city, there is a sense of tranquility here that becomes especially apparent during the blue hour.

With this photograph, I wanted to capture more than a well-known location. My goal was to convey the unique atmosphere that makes Amsterdam so beloved by visitors and residents alike. It is a moment when history, light, and water come together in perfect harmony, revealing the city at its most enchanting.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
