The so called "blue hour", the time after sunset when the colours in the sky begin to fade and are replaced with the blue shades of the night. The picture is taken at Ashness Jetty at Derwent Water, one of the many lakes in the English Lake District. By using a long (three minute) shutterspeed it is easy to see the movement of the clouds and at the same time create a perfectly still water surface.
