Absolutely beautiful place on the south coast of Iceland is the black (lava) sand beach of Reynisfjara. I was here very early in the morning with sunrise. The waves of the sea were meters high and wild and the roar of the waves was very loud. The sun was still hidden behind the cliff on the left of the photo, but the sky behind it was already turning a little orange from the rising sun. The blue of the disappearing night reflected on the seawater slipping over the beach. On the cliffs and above the sea sat and flew countless birds. The cliff, Hálsanefshellir is a very beautiful basalt formation with a cave behind it, created by erosion. Unfortunately we could not reach it that day because the waves were too high and very unpredictable, one time they stayed at a distance and the other time you were almost swamped by the waves. It is a dangerous place because of that but magically beautiful.
