Some images don’t need color to speak. This photograph, taken around noon in September 2023 in the harbor of Corfu, is one of them. The sun was high, yet the lack of color brings out the silence, simplicity, and strength of the moment.
What inspired me was the nearly frozen dance of the boats on the water. Each sailboat seems to wait in stillness — for the wind, the crew, or perhaps for nothing at all. The masts reflect in the shimmering water like pencil lines on paper. The mountains on the horizon fade into a soft haze, as if stepping back from the scene.
By rendering this work in black and white, I wanted to pause time. The focus shifts to form, balance, and calm. Without color, there's space for interpretation — for memory, longing, or reflection.
This piece fits beautifully into interiors where simplicity, calmness, and elegance meet. It speaks to those who love travel, stillness, and imagery that lingers — precisely because it doesn’t reveal everything at once.
