Black & White. The Hooglandse Kerkgracht is a street and former canal in the city centre of the Dutch city Leiden. The street in the district Pancras-west runs between the Old Rhine from the Kerkbrug south towards the Hooglandse Kerk, after which the street is named, to the Nieuwstraat. On this street there are several national monuments. Moreover, the street is marked as a protected cityscape.
In 2004, the street was completely redesigned as part of the project 'Binnenste Beter', whereby the parking spaces in the central reservation disappeared and the whole area was given a low-traffic character.
