Bixby Creek Bridge, Highway one, California
The Bixby Creek Bridge or the Bixby Bridge is an arch bridge in the Big Sur coastal region of the US state of California.
Due to its design and idyllic location, the Bixby Creek Bridge is also one of the most photographed bridges along the Pacific Coast.
The bridge has been widely photographed and filmed, including in several commercials for car brands. The Bixby Bridge featured in the intro of the television series Then Came Bronson (1969-1970) and in the films Play Misty for Me (1971) and The Sandpiper (1965). She also appeared on screen during the first season of Heroes (2006), although the scene in question was set in Texas. She was also seen during the opening credits of Big Little Lies (2017-2019). In the series, the characters occasionally drive across the bridge.
In 2010, the United States Postal Service issued a stamp in honour of the Bixby Creek Bridge.
