About the artwork

The picture shows a typically Dutch scene: an old ladies' bicycle with a wooden crate on the front, parked against a tree along the IJkade in Amsterdam.

The bicycle is one of many in the city, as the Netherlands is a true cycling country. Why is that so? There are several reasons. First, the Netherlands is a flat country, making cycling relatively easy and fast. Second, the Netherlands has a well-developed network of cycle paths, which increase the safety and comfort of cyclists. Third, the Netherlands has a cycling culture, dating back to the 19th century, when the bicycle became a symbol of freedom and emancipation.

Cycling is not only a means of transport, but also a way of life, which fits the Dutch values of sustainability, health and sociability. The picture shows that even in times of corona, the bicycle remains a faithful companion for many Dutch people.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
