Big Horseshoe in the period from summer to autumn in a park in Amsterdam. Botanical impression in lines and colours. Beauty of decay. It is the transition from fresh green leaves in summer to an ocean of warm autumn colours in autumn that fascinates. This drawing shows how this transition begins to become visible. The leaves slowly take on so many diverse shapes and colours that I have made a series of them. It is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. For this drawing I used coloured pencil on smooth watercolour paper (hot pressed).
