Greater coltsfoot in winter in a park in Amsterdam. Botanical impressions in lines and colours. Beauty of decay. It is the transition from fresh green leaves in summer to an ocean of warm autumn colours in autumn that fascinates. Also the wonder of the movement the leaves make as they turn inwards from open and green in various shapes. The leaves take on so many different shapes and colours that I made a series of them. For me, it is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration. For this drawing, I used coloured pencil on smooth watercolour paper (hot pressed).
