About ‘Beulaker Tower in the ice’ by Wilko Visscher

During a cold morning, after a thorough preparation, everything came together: the place, the light and a for the photo fantastic layer of ice full of structures, cracks and floes. In the Beulakerwijde, in National Park Weerribben-Wieden, stands this monument, the Beulaker tower. It stands on the spot where in the night of 22nd November 1776 the village Beulake disappeared in the waves. Normally it is surrounded by water, but now it was accessible by foot due to the severe frost. That morning I went out early. It was still almost dark and it froze about 11 degrees. It was a magical moment and when I think back I get goose bumps again, because of the cold, but certainly also because of the moment. In the tower the sculpture has a wheelwork that indicates the progress of time, which for the village of Beulake was brought to a standstill in the decisive moment. By setting time in motion again, the bell sounds over the water and this remarkable history is heard. Every day again.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
