About ‘Between heaven and earth - Uganda's graceful giants’ by Rick Massar

In the vast plains of Kidepo Valley National Park, giraffes move with a calmness that seems almost timeless. Their long necks and stately posture rise high above the grass and acacia trees, while their mottled fur blends into the warm light of the savannah. Each step seems thoughtful, each glance imbued with calm wisdom.

Kidepo's giraffes - mainly the rare Rothschild giraffes - are not only a visual highlight, but also a symbol of resilience. They roam the park in small groups, looking for young leaves and shady spots. When the sun is low, they are bathed in a golden glow that further emphasises their elegance.

This photo collection brings the magic of these animals to life: from close-ups of their soft eyes and unique patterns to panoramic images of giraffes silhouetted against the mountains and sky. An ode to the grace, tranquillity and majesty of Kidepo's giraffes - living poetry in Uganda's landscape.
