About ‘Between barrenness and life’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

Leh lies there like a silent thought between heaven and earth. The city spreads out across the valley, a mosaic of houses, paths and life, held in place by rows of slender poplars that stand like green exclamation marks in the landscape. Their rustling is quiet, almost reverent, as if they were aware of the grandeur of the space they accompany.
Above it all, Namgyal Tsemo Gompa sits enthroned on Tsenmo Hill. The monastery does not appear monumental, but watchful. It looks down on the town, across to the Indus Valley, and further still, to where paths disappear and thoughts wander. The surrounding mountains are barren and vast, their colours restrained, almost ascetic. They speak of patience, of periods of time that transcend human measure.
The light here is clear, incorruptible. It leaves nothing blurred, reveals every contour and yet makes room for silence. Between the walls of the city and the slopes of the mountains, a balance emerges, fragile and strong at the same time. Everyday life and spirituality coexist without crowding each other.
There is a special tranquillity in this panorama. Not an absence of life, but its conscious order. Leh is not a place that explains itself. It invites you to look, to linger – and to adjust your own pace to the breath of the landscape.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
