About ‘Between Skin and Flow’ by John AZOK

In this digital work, I explore the boundary between the human body and the aquatic world, between flesh and technological transparency. I imagined an androgynous figure enveloped in a translucent second skin, in which goldfish circulate. This living flow seems both to inhabit it and to escape from it, creating a tension between confinement and liberation.

My work questions our relationship with living matter in an increasingly artificial world. For me, the body becomes an aquarium, a laboratory, an ecosystem - a space for exchange between inside and outside. By incorporating fish, a symbol of fragility, fluidity and sensory memory, I evoke the human condition in the post-biological era.

I like to contrast the cold, smooth digital material with the organic softness of living things. This tension gives rise to a form of hybridisation between nature and technology, an augmented body that is still trying to breathe.

The transparency of the device conveys both a desire for purity and the vulnerability of an exposed being, penetrated by the gaze. Through this work, I question the future of the human being: will we still be flesh, or will we become mere receptacles of synthetic life?

It's a meditation on the metamorphosis of the body and the survival of the sensitive in a world of glass and data.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
