The Rhaetian Railway, abbreviated as RhB, is a well-known Swiss railway company operating in the canton of Graubünden. The company operates an extensive railway network, including the famous Albula and Bernina lines, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their spectacular scenery and engineering feats. Known for its red trains, RhB provides an essential transport service for both locals and tourists in the region.

The Bernina Railway is a famous railway line in Switzerland connecting St Moritz in the canton of Graubünden and Tirano in Italy. Part of the Rhätische Bahn (RhB), it is known for its breathtaking scenery and technical feats. The Berninabahn passes through mountainous terrain, over impressive viaducts and past glistening lakes. The Bernina Bahn has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for their cultural and historical value.

The photochrome technique is a photolithographic process developed in the late 19th century. It was used to produce colour photographs's from black-and-white negatives. By printing different lithographic stones using different colours of ink, an accurate reproduction of the original scene could be made. Photochrome prints were popular for producing postcards and travel pictures's because of their realism and colourfulness. This technique played an important role in the early spread of colour photo's before colour photography was widespread.
