The Beech Leafminer moth lays its eggs in the leaves of beech trees. These eggs hatch into tiny larvae, which then eat a passage in the leaf green. The passage starts small, because there the larva is still small. The more it eats, the more it grows and the larger the passage becomes. This scene produces beautiful and unusual photos! A nice bonus is the springtail with it.
