Beautiful MD-11 of Martinair Cargo (the PH-MCR) has just landed at the Polderbaan.

The MD-11 flew with Martinair and KLM since the mid-1990s. Martinair stopped carrying passengers in 2010 and converted all MD-11s to cargo aircraft. KLM was the last airline in the world still flying passengers in the MD-11 until 2014. Due to the age and too high maintenance costs, these aircraft were taken out of service.
KLM replaced the MD-11s with Boeing 787 Dreamliners, at Martinair no replacement took place. Therefore, many pilots and ground staff lost their jobs. Martinair now has only four cargo Boeing 747s left, three in KLM livery.
