This glorious image of a bearded iris is created from my own photograph of an iris in my garden. The variety, Indian Chief, is a gorgeous combination of pink and magenta or maroon. Each bloom is exquisite, and I just love the yellow beard that sits on the downward sloping petals - they look like furry caterpillars! The petals are delicate, you can see the veins in them, and they ripple in the breeze. This iris also has the most wonderful perfume which unfortunately I am unable to share with you. I have chosen to create this photo art in a traditional fine art style, with shading and depth and a total concentration of the light on the petals of this beautiful flower.
