A beach cabin (or beach house) is a wooden cabin, usually placed on a wooden foundation, on the beach along the edge of the dunes. The cabins are built up in spring and dismantled again in autumn due to storms. It is used as a changing cabin and as a closed place for beach equipment. In recent years, houses have been added in which people can spend the night.
Beach cabins can often be found along the Flemish and Zeeland coasts, in the north of France and in a few places along the Dutch coast. There are also beach cabins along the South Holland coast at Hoek van Holland and the North Holland coast at Julianadorp aan Zee.
