The municipality of Buenavista del Norte originated in the 16th century. The inhabitants of this village in the far northeast hold faithfully to their traditions. This is undoubtedly one of the regions of greatest scenic value on the island, an ideal environment for its five thousand inhabitants.
The village has many assets, such as its charming streets and coastline full of pretty coves and a leisure offer respectful of nature.
As much as 80% of the municipality's area is protected nature reserve. For example, we have the Teno Natural Park, a natural monument of some 7,500 hectares with spectacular rural and marine landscapes, with exceptionally beautiful massifs and gorges.
The cliffs of Los Gigantes, between 300 and 600 metres high, drop vertically into the sea near the Gorge of Masca. In this difficult-to-access strip is the village of Caserío de Masca, one of Tenerife's best examples of rural architecture and declared an Ethnographic Site.
