About the artwork

Against the backdrop of the wars with the Ammonites is the story in which David saw a beautiful woman, whom he recognized as the wife of a soldier in his army, sent for her and had sex with her.

Miniature of a radiant naked Bathsheba in her bath. In the Middle Ages, it was thought that King David wrote the seven penitential psalms as atonement for his sins, the greatest of which was seducing the young woman Bathsheba. In this scene, Bathsheba is transformed into the king's temptress, lingering naked in her bath and staring unashamedly at the viewer. Her abundant blonde hair glowed on the page and her high, small breasts and wide hips met the highest standards of female beauty of the time.

Jean Bourdichon (1456 à 1457 - 1520 à 1521) was a French painter and miniaturist who worked for the French court between the late 15th and early 16th centuries. He was born in Tours (not documented) in 1456 or 1457 and died there between 1520 and1521. He was appointed painter to the king by four successive French kings, namely: Louis XI, Charles VIII, Louis XII and Francis I. Bourdichon is described by many art historians who studied his work as someone who produces flawless work.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
