The northern French village of Berfleur at low tide. Officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, I was expecting hordes of day tourists and was surprised by the heavenly emptiness and tranquillity. this image makes me pause in awe at the power of the tides. I have never felt more at sea than right here, in the far north of France.
