Situated between the Saaler Bodden and the Baltic Sea, you will find a unique landscape around the Baltic seaside resort of Wustrow. A kilometre-long sandy beach, dune landscape, coastal protection forests and the Bodden - diverse and beautiful.
After almost two years of construction, the Wustrow pier was inaugurated in 1994. It is 395 metres long and 3.5 metres wide and is supported by steel pillars. The first pier in the municipality was completed in 1886: It was made of wood and was only 50 metres long. An extension of the bridge became necessary in the following years in order to revitalise the seaside traffic between Warnemünde and Wustrow.
In this romantic shot with long exposure, the setting sun is just reaching the end of the pier.
The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula is located on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
It consists largely of the unspoilt "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" National Park, a unique natural landscape in which wind and waves constantly recreate the coastline, deer stroll along the beach and thousands of cranes rest.
The powdery soft beach, the mystical windswept cranes on the Darßer Weststrand and the wide open view over the sea - this is what makes the Darß and its region so unique.
