About ‘Balos beach’ by Antwan Janssen

Balos beach is a secluded beach in the far northwest of Crete. It is called the most beautiful beach in Crete. The lagoon is located in a bowl-shaped bay and the colours of the sea water vary from azure blue to green. The beach is very difficult to reach. From the village of Kalyviani an unpaved road leads to the peninsula. The road is about 10 km long but count on a driving time of 45 to 60 minutes. The road can be prepared with an ordinary car if you drive slowly and carefully and if it hasn't rained recently. Once at the end of the road you have to walk a bit more and then walk down a few hundred steps. At the end of the day at the beach you can really enjoy yourself.

As you can see on this site my preference goes to landscapes, wildlife but also to the local population, mostly abroad but certainly also in our beautiful Netherlands. In recent years, several of my photos have won awards in both national and international photo competitions.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
