The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) is the largest bird of prey in Europe and is sometimes called the Flying Door, due to its wingspan of about 2.40 mtr. The bird hunts small game, larger (water) birds and sometimes eats carrion. An adult Bald Eagle gets a gray head and white tail after 4-5 years and is then sexually mature.
