The White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) is the largest bird of prey in Europe and is sometimes called the Flying Door, because of its wingspan of approximately 2.40 meters. The bird hunts small game, larger (water) birds and sometimes eats carrion. An adult white-tailed eagle develops a grey head after 4-5 years and is then sexually mature.
