About ‘Balance in space’ by Joost Hogervorst

This work is abstract, spatial, dark yet light. There are influences of Bauhaus to be seen, Fernand Leger also. Geometric figures in different shades of blue, made by feeling, intuition. It shows what it shows and I wonder if that matters much. It's just there.

Making images, that's what I do. I draw, design and photograph me an accident and make what I like. It goes all the way. Also because everything goes wrong. That sometimes results in surprising new things. The most important thing is that I enjoy it anyway. I work in 3 ways:

1. I draw on paper (often line drawings that I edit with Photoshop).
2. I take photos (which I often edit with Photoshop).
3. I work with Photoshop out of the blue.
