About ‘BMW's last hours in the 24h Le Mans’ by Richard Kortland
Prior to the 2019 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours, BMW announced that this would be their last race. This photo was taken in the last hours of the race. Always a good moment for me because the cars are full of battle scars after so many hours of racing.

My name is Richard Kortland. I literally grew up on race circuits from birth. First motocross and later car racing. In the course of time I started to combine this with my other hobby: photography.
I am therefore several times a year on motocross circuits, along rally trials or on circuits such as Zandvoort, Zolder, Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans. Especially the 24 hour race on the latter circuit has been my passion since 2008. Much of my photography work will therefore…
