In this collage, a tin toy ballerina, captured in a lampshade shape based on an old architectural drawing. Her rusty joints groaned with every movement, yet she spun, endlessly, to an invisible tune. Every evening, as dusk enveloped the room in blue and gold, she would do a pirouette and stare at the lampshade as if it were secretly giving her commands. In the foreground a marbled tulip containing a girl who watched the dancing ballerina with twinkling eyes. No one knew how long she had been sitting there. Perhaps she had always been there, a silent spectator in a world where everything seemed to breathe, to whisper, to live without ever really being born. This is a frozen dream, waiting to be unravelled.
