This enchanting, autumnal photo was taken on 20 September 2019 in Märkisches Oderland near Schiffmühle.
Schiffmühle is a district of the town of Bad Freienwalde (Oder) in the district of Märkisch-Oderland (Brandenburg).
Schiffmühle is located around three kilometres north of the town centre of Bad Freienwalde on the Alte Oder.
The street village stretches along a road for around four kilometres. Bad Freienwalde is located on the Alte Oder on the north-western edge of the Oderbruch at the transition to the Barnim Plateau. This is also the reason for the extremely large difference in altitude of almost 160 metres within the current town area by Brandenburg standards.
The brown and slowly drying sunflower field in contrast to the proud hills with their tree landscape lends the photo motif a very special charm with a slightly fairytale-like atmosphere. The muted, earthy natural tones in the soft autumnal light exude a gentle, calming mood.
