Sunrise on the Noorderheide between Vierhouten and Elspeet in the municipality of Nunspeet. This photo was taken in late September on a foggy morning. The warmth of the budding sun warms the water in a natural fen that lies between the trees, causing the fog to swirl over the water and bank. In the vernacular, they are the "White Wolves" (ghosts) who wander through the woods and across the fields.
The Noorderheide is a beautiful nature and hiking area that connects with the rest of the Veluwe and its wildlife rest areas.
