About ‘Autumn in Elswout’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

At Buitenplaats Elswout, you step back in time. Ever since the early 17th century, rich merchants from Amsterdam have chosen this place as their 'country house'. Each owner put his own stamp on the buitenplaats. Now almost 400 years later, Elswout has become a green pearl where nature and culture come together.

Elswout was founded in the mid-17th century by Carel du Moulin, but Amsterdammer Gabriel Marcelis completed the first construction of Elswout. Many great architects collaborated on the ever-changing architecture and landscape styles over the centuries. For instance, Pieter Post, the architect of the Palace on Dam Square, probably also collaborated on the design. Over the years, the style of the country estate changed with the changing trends; from Dutch Baroque gardens to landscape parks.

The oldest buildings at Elswout date from the 17th century, including the gatehouse and coach houses. The big house, orangery and model farm were designed in the 19th century by Constatijn Muysken, commissioned by the Borski family. The many small houses and bridges at this country estate also date from that time. The Borski family owned Elswout for three generations. A special family member was Johanna Borski, the widow of Willem Borski II. She was one of the wealthiest women of the 19th century and financed, among other things, the Dutch Bank and the first railways of our country.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
